Phil De La Torre, PhD.
SR. Consultant/Leadership Coach

Dr. Phil De La Torre has over 16 years of experience in consulting with major corporations and privately held companies both domestically and internationally. Dr. Phil provides expertise in management consulting, leadership development and coaching, teambuilding, and personality assessment. Dr. Phil is passionate about personal excellence and dedicated to inspiring greatness in others. Dr. Phil is fluent in Spanish and has conducted training workshops and leadership coaching in the U.S., Mexico and throughout S. America.

Dr. Phil’s solutions are designed to help clients/organizations build the confidence that produces extraordinary results. Dr. Phil partners with management teams and individual leaders on becoming highly effective and strategic as well as developing direction, vision and leadership skills. Phil has designed and facilitated leadership development and supervisor training, assisted in redesigning organizational structure consistent with business strategies. Phil has also supported the people side of ERP/SAP deployments, and other major system integration efforts.

As an Executive-Leadership Coach, Dr. Phil uses a highly effective framework and process to assist the client/participant throughout the learning and growth journey. In this journey Dr. Phil begins with an identification of where the client is going (target improvement area, desired vision/goal), where the client is today on the journey (self/other assessment of current level of effectiveness/achievement) and what path she/he will take (the developmental process, resources and set of activities) to get there.

Specifically, Dr. Phil helps the client create a compelling personal vision as a leader, identify the set of leader behaviors/practices that would reflect extraordinary success and support their personal and career goals. Next, using a variety of tools including Personality Profiles, 3600 feedback process, interviews, etc., we aim at getting a clear snapshot of the current level of effectiveness and self-awareness. Finally, we determine the most effective and robust set of action plans and learning activities that will accelerate high performance, personal effectiveness and assure that the leader will accomplish short term objectives, position themselves for their next assignment and be moving toward their long term vision. The process actively involves the client in follow-up work, creates a climate of accountability and action as well as provide for continual communication and follow-up coaching support.

Phil’s past corporate assignments include Consultant with Personnel Decisions Int’l (Detroit, MI), Sr. Organizational Development Leader and Human Resource Manager with Owens Corning, Inc.
