Step 3: Identify Learning Pathways
Why a Learning Pathway?
Without new experiences and learning, new behaviors are unlikely.
Even with renewed vigor and dedication through new insights, the same behavior with good intent will yield the same old results.
In other words, if we continue to do what we have always done, we will continue to get what we’ve always gotten.
What to be Aware of When Creating a Learning Pathway
Using the same tools or skills that may have worked for us in one job, may not excel us to the next performance level in our current role.
For example, just trying harder with the same tools, rarely gives us sustainable improvement.
In fact, there is a strong tendency for most of us to cling to our current ways or habits. As a result, we tend to resist adopting new methods, or even the exploration of learning about new ways of doing things.
Tools to Create a Learning Pathway
The good news about mapping out a learning pathway, is that there are numerous tools to assist in the process.
Potential tools include: programs, books, seminars, tapes, workshops, training, and more.
